Insights: Systems/clients comparison reports
Refer to this guide if you are using Rev-Trac Insights only and not Rev-Trac Platinum.
Overview
This report shows all transports present in a particular system and client that are not present in another system and client.
How it can be useful:
Helps identify actions needed to match one system/client with another.
Determines what transports need to be imported into a test system after it's been refreshed.
The report can be generated using either live data or historic data from stored landscape snapshots.
A landscape snapshot contains information of what transports are present on every 24 hours basis, in what systems and clients in the Rev-Trac landscape. Each snapshot is saved with an ID indicating the day of the week the information was captured (i.e. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Last Monday's snapshot is overwritten by this Monday's snapshot, and so on. As a result, there are no more than seven daily snapshots stored in the system at any one time.
Steps
From the dashboard, select Comparison report.
Specify both systems and clients to be compared. To use any landscape snapshot for comparison, please refer to Using landscape snapshots for comparison below for instructions.
To add more selection criteria, click on Add button next to Filters. A list of filters is displayed.
Complete the desired filters and click OK. The Add button is replaced with Edit and Clear buttons.
To change the filters, click on Edit. To clear all filters, click on Clear.
Select Search. The report below shows the transports that are currently present in QAS/200 that don't exist in QAS/300.
Using landscape snapshots for comparison
If you choose to use any landscape snapshot for comparison, you must click the Add button next to Filters and select Snapshot ID.
Type one of the following ID that represents the day the information was captured: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
If you select just one snapshot, you will be comparing the snapshot of that client against the current state of the other client. If you select snapshots for both clients, you will be comparing between their snapshots for a particular day.
Click OK. See the example below.
Example
To find out transports currently present in QAS/200 but did not exist in QAS/300 last Tuesday, select Use snapshot for QAS/300 and click on Add button next to Filters.
Select Snapshot ID and complete the parameters as shown in the example below.
